The Portrait
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
The Beginning
Cece Marie Williams was born in New York City and raised by her father in Detroit, Michigan. From an early age, she carried a deep compassion for children and for people who were suffering — a sensitivity that would shape the rest of her life.
She turned her life over to God at twenty. Married at twenty-three. A mother of six sons and daughters. A grandmother — Nona, as her granddaughter calls her. Every role has been a classroom.
The Call
In 2005, at twenty-eight, Cece began walking in her call as a prophet and teacher. It wasn’t a title she claimed — it was a path she recognized she’d already been on. The prophetic gift, the passion for teaching, the instinct to build and restore: these had been present long before they had a name.
In 2011, she received a commission she couldn’t ignore — to leave her Detroit home and move to New York to follow a ministerial path. There, she began to demonstrate what she describes as governmental capacities — apostolic operation in the Kingdom of God, not political authority, but the spiritual governance required to build, order, and equip.
The Bible warns that many will call themselves apostles. That warning is taken seriously here. The evidence is not in the title but in the work — in the communities touched, the ministries launched, the lives rebuilt, the mission that continues to bear fruit beyond any single person.
The Mission
In January of 2012, Cece started Mission for a Chosen Generation International, also known as the Joshua-Nehemiah Project, in New York City — a ministry born from a conviction that believers cannot shrink back from public obedience, no matter the cultural pressure. The mission stands on two pillars: courage and unity. It exists to commission the fearful and unite the scattered.
But beneath the ministry’s war cry runs a quieter current — a mandate to build. To rebuild what’s been broken. To restore what’s been lost. That current runs through everything: the books, the teachings, the consulting, the dream about off-grid Christian communities and creating safe spaces for those who are reconnecting to their first love.
The Dream
In 2020, in a dream, I came to my kitchen to fill a glass with water for my loved ones. The tap and every filter I had available kept producing tainted and discolored water. I grew discouraged and sat on the floor, disappointed that I had nothing to serve. Then a block of molding clay appeared in my lap, and the words from John 7:38 echoed in my ears: “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
JOHN 7:38
The Mandate to Build
The dream, along with other spiritual encounters, drives much of what Cece is doing every day. She trusts God to reveal the full picture in time, through clues planted along her journey. This is not her only encounter with God, and it is not the only thing that drives her. But it is one of them.
Out of that mandate came the Rebuilding Jerusalem series — a kingdom methodology for restoration that includes Temple Revival and The Fortified City. The books, the teachings, the missions work, the consulting — all of it flows from that one mandate to build what God has shown her, one piece at a time.
She doesn’t pretend to have it all figured out. She’s building what she can see, and waiting faithfully for the next piece.
Three Worlds, One Woman
Cece Marie doesn’t separate her faith from all the other aspects of her life. She’s a teacher and an author. A systems builder. And a woman whose life is a canvas on which God paints beautiful portraits. This page is where all of it meets — not because it’s all the same, but because it all flows from the same source.
Living water. Molding clay. A mandate to build. The picture is still coming into view. You’re invited to watch it unfold.
